Cruising Inside Passage

Today we stay on the boat all day and cruise up the Inside Passage. Breakfast was fantastic. You have to be careful here to chose the light options or you would be in danger of putting on a lot of weight very quickly.
Leaving the dining room we investigated the Olympic Restaurant. Turns out they have the complete fittings from the dining room on the original Olympic; sister ship to the Titanic. The Olympic was eventually scrapped and someone in England bought the dining room and had it installed in a private home. Celebrity Cruises managed to acquire this dining room when the house came up for sale and they installed it in Celebrity Millennium which was launched in 2000.

Interior of the original Olympic dining room
They have the bell from the Olympic on show and some of the original silver and china from the ship.

Here I am by the old bell from The Olympic.

In the morning we took the Galley tour. This was a chance to go into the kitchens in the ship and see how they manage to feed so many people so efficeintly. It was impressive, The ratio of crew on this boat is 1:2. Most of these are emplyed in the catering service departments.
Vegetable creations by the culinary team.
Bread creations by the Artisan Baker
 Marzipan Fruit creations.
Chefs at work in the kitchens.

The afternoon we spent on deck taking in the scenery through the inside passage. As soon as we got into the narrowest part it was like being in a wind tunnel.

View travelling one of the narrow parts of the Inside Passage.
Later in the afternoon the pilot boat arrived from Vancouver to take the pilot off as he had successfully guided the boat through the narrowest part of the passage.

The evening show was Dancing with the Stars, all singing, all dancing with show band on board who are awesome.  What more  could you ask for?
