Capilano Canyon

Friday June 28th
Off on the bus and sky train and another bus today to Capilano Suspension bridge Park, one of the must see sights in Vancouver.

 Totem poles in the park.

I felt right at home there in the lovely rainforest.

Walking way up in the treetops was not so scary after all. There are seven suspension bridges through magnificent old Douglas firs.

This heron came down the small lake for his lunch. Apparently he appears at the same time each day and poses for the tourists.

The famous swing bridge was crowded with tourists and it swayed as people walked over. I was happy to have a ride in Mary's backpack as I didn't want to end up in the water rushing over the rocks at the bottom of the canyon. The bridge is 137m long and 70m high. The first bridge was built in 1889. of course it has been replaced many times since.

The cliff tops walk is the newest walk. Suspended walkways along sheer granite cliff faces offer stunning views on this cliff-side walk.
