Today we picked up by Doreen (a friend
of Kathleen and Greg's) and taken on a day's outing to Whistler.
This is a 120km drive through stunning scenery. British Columbia is
very green. (Probably because it rains a lot.) The sky was
exceptionally blue and the mountains still had a bit of snow on the
very top.
The first stop was at Shannon falls.
All along the motorway I kept seeing
signs that said ; Look out for bears, do not stop to view,do not feed
them and no matter how hard I looked I could not find any. That was
until I got to whistler and look what I found.

We wandered around the village. It
was fascinating to see the ski lifts being used to take mountain
bikes up the mountain. The guys were coming down the ski races to
thebottom, hosing the bikes down and lining up again for another run.
They were well covered in protective gear.

We discovered there was a free shuttle
bus to the Lost Lake. So we grabbed the picnic lunch and waited for
the bus. We found a table and got out our picnic.
