Saturday August 4th
Today Mary and Alan had planned to go to London but they realised they needed a day to sort out stuff before heading out on more of my adventures. So they had a quiet morning tidying up, doing washing and throwing away rubbish. In the afternoon they wandered down to the local shops and had a look around. It was a good chance to have an early night as Hamish had gone out on a gig.
Sunday August 5th
Today they got up and walked to the railway station to use the first of the 4 day Britrail pass to go and visit friends in Brighton. They managed to walk to the station in 20 minutes and were in time for the 9.25 train. They had to make two tube changes across London to get from Marylebone to Victoria Stations. Loveyl surprise: the Oyster cards still worked after lying dormant for 3 years and still had around 9 quid on each. They were very surprised to be able to catch the 10.27 train to Brighton. They got off at Preston park which is one station before Brighton and arrived at the Brett's before 12.00 The whole journey from door to door had only taken 3 hours and had invovled walking at both ends and 4 trains. i was wondering where the children were as they had been very friendly to me last time I was here. Their dad told me that they were at camp but would be home soon. I was happy because they really like playing with me.
In the evening we went into Brighton to have a meal in The Lanes. When we were in the car going into town Mary gave me to Adam to play with and he kept on putting me in and out of my rugby ball sleeping bag. Lucy remembered me coming to their place before and even remembered my new friend Berlin bear who had to stay home this time.
One of the lanes in Brighton.
The restaurant where we had dinner.
Pete with Adam, Lucy and Jacquie in the lanes.
An interesting mural missing a few letters. It should say, Alice's Dreams.
